Wallenberg Prize 2016 to John Andersson and Erik Wahlén

John Andersson, associate professor of mathematics at KTH, and Erik Wahlen, a lecturer in mathematics at LU shares this year's Wallenberg Prize of SEK 300 000. The price has since 1983 been awarded by the Swedish Mathematical Society for promising young Swedish mathematician, and funded since 1987 with funding from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation.

Andersson gets Wallenberg Prize for his important contributions to the theory of partial differential equations, especially the solution of Signorinis problems.
Wahlén is awarded for his significant contributions to the theory of partial differential equations, particularly the solution (with Ehrnström) of Whithams unlikely.

The prize will be awarded during the SMC Annual Meeting which will take place in Uppsala on June 17, 2016
