KTH Food Centre

KTH Food Centre engages and aligns the education, research and outreach at KTH towards a resource efficient and fair food system, encompassing the entire value chain. The goal is sustainable food systems and products with positive impact on health and well-being.

KTH Food Centre is a visible research, educational and outreach platform, integrating the scattered efforts at KTH. The network has four areas of interest, related to the current food sustainability challenges:

  • Food Processes and Waste Management
  • Food Protection and Safety
  • Food Quality and Health
  • Sustainable Food Production and Consumption.

The network arranges workshops to provide the arena for stimulating discussions, in order to engage interested participants and catalyse future collaborations.

 Transformation Day 2022

The food industry transformation

11 October 2022 was KTH’s Transformation Day, this year on the theme of transformation in the food industry. The aim was to highlight how the food industry is being transformed for climate and competitiveness and how this transformation is supported by research at KTH. More than 140 participants joined the transformation day together with invited parties from the food sector to discuss their activities and needs, and provided examples of sustainable food production and sustainable business models.
