PFAS – per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are persistent chemicals widely found in environmental systems. They pose increasing environmental and public health risks, while society lacks integrated tools to understand, predict, and mitigate PFAS contamination under changing climate and social-environmental conditions. This project establishes a "PFAS Forensics and Solution Lab", a collaborative platform where researchers, authorities, and community actors jointly develop new approaches to trace, assess, and address PFAS risks. The Lab combines physics-based and machine learning models, digital twins, and expertise from environmental science and engineering, public health, and social science. The project contributes to the next generation of risk assessment and preparedness for chemical threats under climate change. It emphasizes shared problem framing, co-design of tools and solutions, and knowledge transfer across science, policy, and practice. The aim is to establish a strong cross-domain research and innovation environment to support a chemically safe and resilient future.
