KTH has a long and positive experience of working with industry and research institutions, while Ericsson Research has a long tradition of influencing and embracing academic research results. Despite these traditions, successful collaboration requires understanding the differences in driving forces of academic and industrial research. Adjunct professors play an important role in bridging this gap by contributing to research, education and societal activities at KTH, while driving research projects of industrial relevance. In this talk, I will share my experience as a researcher at Ericsson Research and adjunct professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science focusing on how KTH faculty and students and Ericsson can work together for the good of academia and industry.

Gabor Fodor is currently a Master Researcher with Ericsson Research and a Docent and Adjunct Professor with KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He holds more than 100 granted patents and has authored or coauthored more than 100 refereed journal and conference articles and seven book chapters.

He was a co-recipient of the IEEE Communications Society Stephen O. Rice Prize in 2018. He is currently serving as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Wireless Communications and a Guest Editor for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications.
