Humanity is facing a number of major global challenges. As a technical university, KTH has a special responsibility to develop the knowledge needed to promote sustainable development. Through the integration of sustainable development into our education programmes, research and collaborations, and by reducing the university’s environmental impact, we do our part to live up to that special responsibility.
From Development Plan 2018-2023
"Students graduating from KTH shall be able to contribute to the sustainable development of society. The sustainability perspective must be integrated in study programmes and a clear progression in this area must be ensured. Engineers, architects and teachers with a clear sustainability profile to their education will provide crucial contributions to social change."
