Deferment of studies
In the event extenuating circumstances arise, a student admitted to an undergraduate or master's programme may defer the commencement of their studies. Permission for deferment of studies is usually granted for the next time the programme is offered.
Reasons for deferment of studies
Deferment of studies may be granted if there are extenuating circumstances. Reasons for deferment of studies or academic leave may entail social, medical or other extenuating circumstances such as:
- care of child
- mandatory military service
- denied leave of absence for studies from your employer
Deferment of studies cannot be granted for reasons concerning housing/accommodation or your current economic situation.
If you are obliged to pay tuition fees you must pay the first instalment of tuition before the deadline in order for your application to be assessed.
Application for deferment of studies
You are required to submit a written statement along with certified documents supporting your reason for deferment. Send your scanned application to email@example.com .
If you can't send us your scanned application it is possible to send a hard copy to KTH Admissions Office, Brinellvägen 8, SE-100 44 Stockholm, Sweden.
