Cover

All doctoral theses, licentiate theses and degree project reports are to have uniform covers. The graphic elements of the covers vary however. Doctoral theses have blue elements, licentiate theses use green and degree project reports are in red.

The covers are always done in G5 format (169x239 mm). There is also room for an image on the cover, if so desired. The image could also be a graph or similar. For images, you can choose four-colour, black-and-white or duplex print (black combined with a specified colour).

The cover will be produced by the company printing the actual thesis. This is done because the fonts are not available with all users at KTH, but also to maintain a uniform format.  These regulations currently only apply to the covers. Original covers are available at all of our contracted printers.

There is also a template to download, with pointers on what information should be included on the cover. The Word file is filled out and submitted to the company printing the thesis for formatting. The template is found at the bottom of this page.

If the student chooses to have the thesis printed outside of an examination context, they may not use the graphic profile or logo of KTH, however, the title page or preface must clarify that the thesis has been presented at KTH.
