University of Tokyo was established in 1877 as the first national university in Japan. As a leading research university located in Tokyo, spread across five campuses, it is the highest ranked institution in Japan and Asia and is one among the top 50 universities of the world. More than 30,000 students currently study here and more than 2,900 students are international.

Number of spots: approximately 14 semester spots each year
Grade requirements: a minimum of 4,0 (on KTH's scale of 5). if studies on Japanese, a test JLPT level N1 is required; if in English on Undergraduate level, a TEOFL result IBT of 90 is required.
