Work during studies

This page contains job-hunting tips for students who are interested in working part-time during their studies. Foreign students with a residence permit for studies are allowed to work in Sweden during their period of study. No additional work permit is needed. However, students from outside the EU/EEA who wish to stay in Sweden to work after completion of their studies need to contact the Migration Board for more information.

Finding a part-time job

Finding a part-time job in Stockholm can be difficult especially if you do not speak Swedish. However, there are ways that may increase your chances of finding a job. Even if a company is not advertising a placement you can still send your CV and an expression of interest in working for them. Using notice boards to advertise your services is another way. The public libraries are a good place to start as they generally have many job ads on their notice boards.
