Student rights and responsibilities

We want you to have a good time at KTH and succeed in your studies! On the following pages we have gathered information from Swedish laws and KTH’s own regulations that describe how you, as a student, should be treated by the university – regulations which you must also follow as a student at KTH.

Feel well at KTH

Here you can read about what apply in order for you to get the most out of your studies.

KTH is governed by the same laws and regulations that apply to all universities and university colleges in Sweden and which are found in the Higher Education Ordinance and the Higher Education Act. The Swedish Council for Higher Education, UHR, is the agency that issues regulations in a number of areas that supplement and clarify the regulations contained in the Higher Education Act and the Higher Education Ordinance.

KTH is an authority that is governed by the Administrative Law. The Administration Act specifies how authorities should handle their cases. The law lays down rules whose main purpose is to protect citizens' legal security when dealing with administrative authorities. KTH also has its own regulations that apply to students as well as employees.
