Student life

Being part of KTH means being part of the dynamic and bustling city of Stockholm, in addition to the abundance of activities you can take part of as a student. Find out more about the KTH Campuses and what the Student Union can offer you as a KTH-student below.

Get into the spirit of a true KTH student

The student union, THS, aims to make you feel as welcome as possible when you arrive in Stockholm and Sweden. Moving to a new city can be challenging and takes a lot of energy as there are many things beside your studies that you have to learn. This is why THS tries to facilitate this change by arranging activities to help you find your new classmates and friends for a lifetime, no matter whether you are just starting your studies at bachelor level or continuing your university studies at master or doctoral level.

In Sweden the student unions are very strong and are able to help you in most concerns related to your studies. THS care for the welfare of the students, their social environment, future career possibilities and the quality of their education. The union represent all members and hope that you would like to join the team upon your arrival to Stockholm.

More information about the introduction programme arranged by THS will be published on these pages further on. To read all about what THS has to offer international students and why you should join, please visit the THS website.

The campuses of KTH

KTH has four campuses in and around Stockholm, with quick public transportation connecting them to central Stockholm. Each campus is situated near accommodation, parks, sport facilities, restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

KTH Campus

The main KTH campus, located in central Stockholm, is like a small town in the middle of a big city. Its historical buildings dates back to the early 20th century and is situated next to the Royal National City Park, offering great opportunities for sports and recreation.

KTH Kista

The KTH Kista campus is located in the heart of Kista Science City, the largest ICT cluster in Europe and home to over 1,000 ICT companies such as Ericsson, IBM and Microsoft. A close collaboration between KTH and neighboring companies create unique opportunities for students to interact with industry.

KTH Flemingsberg

The KTH Flemingsberg campus is located in one of Northern Europe’s most important areas for medical technology. In Flemingsberg KTH is joined by the universities Karolinska Institutet and Södertörn University College, creating a student community with over 10,000 students.

KTH Södertälje

The KTH Södertälje campus is constantly evolving through close co-operation with Södertälje based businesses, led by major companies such as Scania and AstraZeneca. This is the southernmost and smallest KTH campus, making it a close-knit student community.
