Academic year overview

The academic year is divided into two twenty-week semesters. Each semester is divided into two “study periods,” which means that an individual course will generally run half of the semester, or ten weeks. Exams are held at the end of each study period.

The autumn semester begins in late August/early September and ends in the middle of January. The spring semester begins in the middle of January and ends in the beginning of June.

Study period 1: 30 August–15 October

National holiday: 25 December, 1 January, 6 January

Exam period 2: 10–15 January, 17 January

Spring semester

Spring semester dates: 18 January, 2022–7 June, 2022

Study period 3: 18 January–7 March

Exam period 3: 11–12 March, 14–18 March

Study period 4: 21 March–20 May
