TU Braunschweig is part of the TU9 universities in Germany, standing for excellence in Engineering and Natural Sciences. 51 percent of all engineers with a degree come from a TU9 University. The city have 250 000 inhabitans. It is an important research city and is close to the auto industry in Wolfsburg.
