Universität Bielefeld was founded in 1969 with the ambition to reform the way German universities work. The university places great emphasis on linking education and research and to stimulate interdisciplinary research, among other things by collecting all disciplines in a large building. Universität Bielefeld educates around 20,000 students in everything from economics to biology.
