Entry requirements for master's studies
To be eligible for a master's programme at KTH you must meet the admission requirements of your chosen programmes and submit the required documents in your application. The same process applies to students with a bachelor's degree from a Swedish university.
Specific requirements for each master's programme
You can find the specific requirements required for each programme through the links below.
Application documents
Your application is not complete without the required documents. Some documents are required for all programmes, while some are programme specific. You will find the documents required by each programme through the links below.
Selection criteria and process
All applicants who meet the requirements will have their merits rated on a scale of 1 to 75. The merit rating is done individually by each programme according to their set selection criteria. Usually, they will assess your previous education (including grades, quality of education, suitability for the programme and English proficiency) and motivation. The applicants with the highest merit ratings are admitted. You will find the selection criteria for each programme through the links below.
Acceptance rate
The average acceptance rate in the 2025 admission to our master's programmes was 29 %. The acceptance rate is based on the number of admitted students in relation to the number of applicants who met the admission requirements for a specific programme. The acceptance rates vary widely between the programmes and change every year depending on the number of qualified applicants and places in each programme.
