Career and alumni

For decades, KTH and Sweden have been at the forefront of advancements in grid systems, power component technologies and automation solutions. These areas are in constant need of fresh ideas and new engineers. For a long time there has been a wide selection of career options all over the world for electric power engineers.

After graduation about 70 percent of the international students at KTH pursue a career in industry, and 30 percent join a university for Ph.D. studies. Through the social network Linkedin you are able to find out more about the career of electric power engineers, who has attended KTH.

Alumni from the master programme in Electric Power Engineering are spread out over the world with a large population living in Europe and the US. The most popular countries to live in in Europe are: Sweden, France, German, Spain, UK, Netherlands and Switzerland.

A majority of the students from the electric power engineering are found in the energy sector with companies like: ABB, Westinghouse Electric Company, Vattenfall, and Schneider Electric. Some students are also found in companies which works with transport in different aspects such as Scania, Bombardier and Volvo.
