Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?

After my bachelor’s studies, I wanted to deepen my knowledge and specialise in the field of Machine Design. KTH is one of the few universities in Europe that provide a master’s programme specifically in this field. Furthermore, KTH is a well-known technical university with a great reputation. So I chose to continue my studies at this university.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

The best aspect of my programme is that it is primarily based on practical learning through assignments and projects in which I get to apply all the knowledge I have acquired from the courses.

Have you chosen a specialisation track within the programme? If Yes, which track and why?

In the Engineering Design programme, it is mandatory that you choose a specialisation when you apply. I chose the Machine Design track, because, as previously mentioned, I am really interested in this field.

What are your favourite courses thus far?

My favourite courses thus far are the Component Design and Machine Design Advanced Course.

How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?

At KTH there are a lot of assignments, sometimes on a weekly basis, while at my home university there were only a few assignments for each course. This practical approach has helped me fully understand how to apply the knowledge I gain in real world problems. Furthermore, compared to my home university, there is a more informal and friendly relationship between professors and students at KTH.

How is student life in Stockholm?

Stockholm is a beautiful city. There are many different events and activities for every taste. Even though Stockholm is a large city, there are many beautiful parks and forests that are easily accessible and are ideal when you want to escape from the city and relax. Moreover, Stockholm and KTH have a multicultural environment and you get to meet people from all over the world.

How would you describe your time at KTH so far?

I have really enjoyed my time at KTH. I would describe it as studying and deepening my knowledge in my field, but also spending quality time with my friends.

What do you want to do after graduating?

I would like to work as a mechanical engineer in Swedish industry and design and develop innovative mechanical systems.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for their master’s studies?

I think you should choose KTH. It has been an amazing experience for me so far. You will not regret it.
