At what company do you work and what are you working on?

I am currently working at Accenture as an IT consultant and project manager, mostly with clients in the retail sector with a focus on e-commerce.

What might your regular working day look like?

It varies a lot of course; however, I would say that it largely involves teamwork. My team is working on a project base form, which means we are working towards different deadlines. We also enjoy a very close collaboration with the client; we are one team working to achieve improvements to the IT system and end-user experience, which I find rewarding.

Have you worked with anything else since you graduated?

Yes, prior to Accenture I worked for two chemical companies: firstly AkzoNobel, where I completed my master’s degree project and was later employed working with resins in the RD&I department; and then as a Sales Executive at Solenis, a company that sells technical solutions and products to the pulp and paper industry, where I was responsible for a number of clients in mid-Sweden and had the chance to travel a great deal.

Why did you choose this programme at KTH?

I always wanted to become an engineer and had an interest in the chemicals sector, which is a major employer in Sweden in areas such as the pulp and paper industry.

What were the best aspects of studying at KTH?

The network I gained from studying; I have a lot of friends and acquaintance from that period that I find very inspiring and useful in my career.

What is your best memory from your time at KTH?

For sure all the great times participating in the reception for new students arriving at KTH and the Chemistry Faculty. I was both kompis, styrman and part of the TLC Group, all of which was a perfect way to meet new friends, many of whom I am still close to.

What are your plans for the future?

I recently moved to Norway and Oslo, so I´m very excited to see what that will bring.

What would you say to a student thinking of applying for this programme?

Get a good picture of the types of roles and workplaces that this programme can lead to and consider whether this is a good match for you; for example, check out NyTeknik, LinkedIn, articles and ask friends and family to get that information. Once you are in the programme, enjoy your time there: it’s a great time in life!
