Hi, my name is Ruina Wang. I am from China, and my home university is Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication. Right now I am in my first year of the Media Management master's programme at KTH. When I get free time for myself, I prefer to play the ukulele with friends and grow flowers in my room.
What made you choose KTH, Stockholm and Sweden?
KTH is located in the capital of Sweden – Stockholm – which is one of the most innovative cities in the world. It is also the fastest growing city and innovation centre in Europe. KTH is the largest, the oldest, and most international university in Sweden and enjoys a high reputation in Europe. KTH is also one of the most well respected and established universities in the world and also the main centre for cultivating innovative and technological talents in Europe. KTH’s strong teaching resources enable students to get in touch with better education, and cutting-edge information and technology in KTH can provide a better development platform for students as well. Students from all over the world bring diversified cultural backgrounds and generate more innovative ideas and open up international horizons.
Before being admitted to KTH, I had four years of study in Printing Engineering. Four years of study provided me a solid foundation in media technology and cultivated my ability for strong logical thinking and hands-on skills. Now, I am more passionate about media knowledge and have constructed the framework of media technology. What’s more, I did an exchange at Linköping University for half a year. I enjoyed their various learning processes and teaching styles, and I increased my comprehensive academic capabilities and fostered my teamwork spirit and cross-culture communication abilities. All of these experiences have made me more clear about my future goal to combine media with market and innovation to create more innovative media. The reason why I chose the media management programme is that it includes media, business, and product courses that can cultivate students' multi-faceted ability to fulfil their goals and make them more competitive in the international market.
