KTH Joint Programme Scholarship

The KTH Joint Programme Scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence. Recipients will have their tuition fee waived for the study period taken at KTH.

The scholarship directly applies to the tuition fee at KTH and does not include a cost of living allowance.

Who is eligible to apply?

To be eligible to apply you must be a tuition-fee paying student and attend one or two semesters at KTH as part of a joint master's programme. Students with a conditional eligibility are welcome to apply.

For the 2019 Joint programme scholarship, students at the following programmes at KTH are eligible to apply:

  • Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering (COSSE) 
  • Environmental Engineering, the track Environmental management, Nordic Five Tech – Second year of studies at KTH. 
  • Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering, Nordic Five Tech, tracks Bio Energy or Energy Systems
  • Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy ME3 (Erasmus+) 
  • Macromolecular Materials, track Polymer Technology, Nordic Five Tech 
  • Maritime Engineering, Nordic Five Tech
  • Nordic Master in Polymer Technology with the first year at KTH, the three tracks Biomaterials science, Industrial processes or Polymer engineering.
  • Security and Cloud Computing SECCLO (Joint Erasmus+)

KTH also has other Joint programmes, which are not covered by the KTH Joint programme scholarship. Students admitted to an EIT master's programme are not eligible for this scholarship. If you are applying to the Master's Programme in Molecular Techniques in Life Science or the Master's Programme in Turbomachinery Aeromechanical University Training (THRUST) you must apply for the scholarship according to the same instructions as for the KTH Scholarship . If you are applying to the Master's Programme in Mathematics, you must apply for a scholarship through Stockholm University .

How to apply

The application for the KTH Joint Programme Scholarship for the 2019–2020 academic year is now closed.

Please note:

For applicants who are attending KTH for the first year of the programme and have not applied through universityadmissions.se, you must send scans of your original bachelor's degree and transcripts (including official translations if they are not issued in English) to info@kth.se

For applicants who are attending KTH for the second year, you must send scans of your original transcripts from your first year of studies within the joint programme to info@kth.se .

Selection process

The scholarship will be granted primarily on the basis of academic excellence. The selection for the KTH Joint Programme Scholarships will be based on the following criteria:

  • The applicant's grades (GPA or equivalent)
  • The university where the applicant's bachelor's degree was awarded
  • Previous studies within the joint programme (students attending KTH for their second year)
