My name is Helal Uddin and I am 32 years old. I have lived in Stockholm for the last 10 years, and I am a Swedish citizen. I did my bachelor's degree in software development at Kristianstad University and studied a Master of Computer System Science at DSV, Stockholm University. I am now studying the master's programme in Software Engineering in Distributed System at KTH, Kista campus. One of my most favourite hobbies is travelling around the world and meeting with new people. In addition, I like developing software projects, kayaking, playing the piano, reading books, and watching movies. I care about animals, global warming, and underprivileged people.

What made you choose KTH?

KTH is a brand in itself. Its high reputation in education and continuously staying in the world ranking, especially in the top 100 University in the world, means undoubtedly that any student will choose KTH.

Stockholm is the capital and largest city in Sweden and is a very safe and peaceful place in the world. I love the nature, people, and culture of Stockholm. There are many multinational companies in Sweden, and the living standard is one of the top in the world. Stockholm has been awarded a Green city in 2010. Sweden’s education system is in the top 10 ranking in the world. I love Sweden’s diversity where approximately 14 % of the people are from abroad. Moreover, Sweden is recognised as a peaceful nation in the world.

What made you choose your programme?

As I have been working in the software industry, I have seen a huge demand for KTH’s IT students in the job market. There are many software architects, engineers, IT-managers, and CIOs who are former students at KTH. That fact inspired me a lot to choose KTH as well.

What do you like most about KTH?

I like the life-changing quality with on-demand education provided by KTH. This helps students to understand the fundamental aspect of the topic as well as opens the broader scope to learn further on the related topics.

What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?

As I said, I have been living a long time in Stockholm with peace, harmony, and unique experiences where I am growing more day by day.

What is your best memory from your time at KTH so far?

There are many good memories at KTH, but the best one was when I saw that I had been selected as a student ambassador. In addition, I liked the THS welcoming programme where I met lots of new students. I enjoyed kayaking with my groups at the beginning of the semester in the summer.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

I would say KTH has a very high standard of education. There are so many options to learn details throughout the lectures, exercises, labs, projects, and exams. I would suggest all future students to join the KTH master's programmes because this will be the best way to invest time and money for one’s future career.

What do you see as the most significant aspects of your programme?

As I am studying in software engineering, I will work on a lot of practical, job market-oriented projects that will help me in my future career.

Are you taking part in any student activities?

I take part in THS activities, and I like to arrange lots of outdoor activities with my KTH friends.

Do you have a dream job after graduating from KTH?

I would say I would like to join a multinational company like Microsoft, Google, Ericsson, and so on.
In the future, I will continue my job experience in the software industry at a higher level.
