What made you choose KTH?

I chose KTH because there are not many universities that offer a master's degree in vehicle engineering, and with the advantage that it is in English so you don´t have to use one year to learn a new language before starting the master’s programme. Also, when looking into different options KTH is a well-known university that has a great ranking in the world and offers a lot of possibilities. Moreover, Stockholm has a lot of places to visit and different activities like hiking, swimming, walking around the city, and even skiing.

What do you like most about KTH?

What I like most about KTH is that the classes are conducted in a very practical way, and this includes not only studying for the exam and using the books, but also learning by doing in most subjects. There are a lot of projects that make you work in groups and allow you to meet new people.

What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?

My impressions about Stockholm are that it is a nice place where people are able to help you if they see you in trouble. They are very kind even if when we meet them they seem like cold people. In winter, the activity decreases because of the weather conditions, but there is always something to do. And in summer, when the sun comes out again, there are a lot of great plans and barbeques around.

What is your best memory from your time at KTH so far?

My best memory at KTH so far is one of the laboratories where we went to Lunda Airfield to do a slalom test with a car and we were able to drive around with the car. The teacher did a slalom with us inside that was incredible. Also, we spent the rest of the day there with the whole class and we had so much fun talking, eating, and playing around with a ball.

Are there any differences between studying at KTH and your home university?

The studies are completely different here than in my other university. The other one was focused on exams, and studying for them was everything. We learned, but when we saw real things we did not know how they worked or how to make them work.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

To students thinking about studying here, I would say that this is a great opportunity not only to learn and meet people from everywhere in the world, but a great opportunity also for getting into a company after the master's studies because KTH is closely involved with a lot of different companies. It is great to see how most of the master's theses are realised with collaborations with companies, thus opening up job opportunities for when the master's degree is finished.

Are you taking part in any student activities?

I am part of KTH Formula, where we make a car to compete against different universities from all over the world in the summer. Right now I am working in the business and marketing areas of the project. The Formula student team is a good activity to use your engineering skills on a project that will compete on the track, and you will also meet a lot of people. I am also part of the Scania Student Intro programme, where I got the chance to work during the summer and now I have the opportunity to do my master's thesis there as well.
