Topic

On the 18th of February 2021 NASA’s Perseverance rover landed in Jezero crater on Mars. Perseverance will for the next couple of years explore the crater to study the geology and look for signs of life. The mission also includes new technology concepts such as flying on Mars. Additionally, Perseverance will collect samples for future Mars sample return, which would be the first time we would bring samples back from Mars. I participate in the Mars 2020 mission as Returned sample scientist. One of my main tasks is to help select the samples to be collected and make sure the necessary information about the samples is obtained. If signs of life are found in these samples this would be a ground-breaking discovery.
