Colloidal properties of nanocellulose

Project description

The project aims at forming an understanding about the fundamental colloidal properties of cellulose nanoparticles and to use the knowledge to create ordered structures of nanocellulose. Most nanocellulose materials are formed from dilute aqueous dispersions and in order to efficiently utilize the properties of these strong and stiff nanoparticles it is essential to describe the colloidal behaviour. In this project the stability of nanocellulose dispersions will be studied using a combination of scattering techniques and models for describing the colloidal behaviour will be developed.
