FiRe Foam

Project description

The primary goal of the project is to develop green and scalable process to produce light weight and fire retardant organic/inorganic foams and composites. Environmentally friendly, chemically modified cellulose fibres are used to design fire retardant paper. Chemically modified nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) further used through Layer-by-Layer deposition technique to increase the fire retardant properties of cellulosic materials.
