Increased Forest Value Through Process Modifications of the Kraft Process

How can we get more paper from a tree? In short that’s the question behind my project, and I try to answer that question through modifications of the Kraft process. So far it seems that one can either produce a higher quality pulp, which would mean less pulp per end product, or increase pulp yield while maintaining quality.

I’ve studied the impact of spruce xylan structure on spruce pulp, the addition of xylan from agro waste on spruce pulp, and how a change in the impregnation step affects cooking of softwood pulp.
