International Symposium - 2020: A Year Without Public Space
Time: Fri 2020-11-06 09.00 - Sat 2020-11-07 18.00
We are wrapping up this challenging year with an online 2-day symposium "2020 A Year Without Public Space: Reflections & Outlook" to reflect and plan ahead for 2021, particularly in the aspects of Cities & Health, Digital Public Space, Innovative Approaches & Creative Practices, and Campus as Public Space.
At the Journal of Public Space and World Universities Network (WUN), we public space scholars, practitioners, and activists across the globe have spent the year exploring an array of aspects of public space, believing that we can build social and health resilience by establishing an open environment for discussion and learning while taking advantage of technology and virtual platforms that many can currently access for free. As the pandemic moves across different continents and urban conditions, we have shared experiences from far and wide via weekly webinars via the initiative 2020: A Year without Public Space under the COVID-19 Pandemic (jointly developed by City Space Architecture and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, School of Architecture) and cross-country cross-sector research.
Coming to the end of 2020, we feel that now it’s the time to look back, reflect and plan ahead.
The symposium is hosted by the School of Architecture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), in collaboration with World Universities Network, our publisher City Space Architecture, The Journal of Public Space, Institute of Future Cities (CUHK).
