Placement test for Swedish
No more than two hours (uninterrupted) may be used for this test and the test will not be considered valid unless you complete all three parts of the test
If you already know some Swedish and apply directly for a course level which requires previous knowledge of Swedish, you must complete the placement test before applying to ensure that your intended choice of level is correct.
There are five Swedish course levels. These are the recommended scores for each level:
|21–50||A2 (Advanced beginners)|
|51–65||B1 (Lower intermediate)|
|81–94||B2 (Higher intermediate)|
Make sure that you have a modern computer, a fast modem and an updated web browser. The test is divided into three parts, A, B and C, and you must do all three to the best of your ability. Do not use any kind of help since that will only result in a test result that is too good, causing you to be placed at a level that is too advanced for you. We may not be able to move you to a lower level later. It takes about two hours to do the test, and the result of the test will guide you in your choice of course level. A copy of the result will also simultaneously be sent to our course administration. NB. Anonymous tests and incomplete tests will not be accepted.
This test is for students who have not studied Swedish with us earlier and cannot be used to skip a level. Also, it is required that a level is completed before continuing with the next one, and it is not possible to take two courses simultaneously. The Swedish courses must be taken in the following order: A1, A2, B1, B1/B2 and B2 (currently offered only as an intensive course in June).
