Abstract

I'll discuss a joint project with Helen Jenne and Gautham Webb, in which we're proving a combinatorial identity about plane partitions and related objects which arises in enumerative geometry, relating the topological vertices in Donaldson-Thomas (DT) theory and Pandharipande-Thomas (PT) theory. Our proof technique involves translating the "box counting" question in PT theory into the Kenyon-Wilson tripartite double-dimer model, and then applying a powerful new technique developed by Jenne for double-dimer computations.
