Abstract: I will extract some new constraints on the smooth structure of nearby Lagrangians from the existence theorem for twisted generating functions established by Abouzaid, Courte, Guillermou and Kragh. These constraints are given in terms of the normal invariant of surgery theory and are the first known constraints that go beyond the case of homotopy spheres. The method of proof uses ideas of Waldhausen and Bökstedt related to the algebraic K-theory of a point. This is a joint work in progress with Abouzaid, Courte and Kragh.
