# Göran Gustafsson Symposium in mathematics, May 30–June 1, 2022

## Göran Gustafsson lectures 2022

**Time: **
Mon 2022-05-30 09.30 - Wed 2022-06-01 17.00

**Location: **
KTH (Oskar Klein) and Mittag-Leffler (Kuskvillan)

**Lecturer: **
June Huh (Princeton University)

The Göran Gustafsson lectures 2022 are given by June Huh who will give a series of three lectures. The first lecture is at KTH (Albanova, Oskar Klein auditorium, May 30, 10 am, coffee from 9:30) and intended for a general audience. The second and third lectures are at Institut Mittag-Leffler. There is also a Göran Gustafsson symposium with a series of research talks at Mittag-Leffler.

The first lecture by June Huh is on **Lorentzian polynomials:**

Lorentzian polynomials link continuous convex analysis and discrete convex analysis via tropical geometry. The tropical connection is used to produce Lorentzian polynomials from discrete convex functions. *The talk will be accessible to a general audience: No specific background beyond linear algebra and multivariable calculus are required for most of the presentation.*
