Abstract
This is a goodbye seminar, since it will be my last day of employment at Stockholm University. The talk will cover various projects I have been working on during my postdoc time here, mainly around the topic of random growth models. It will be divided in two parts.
-
I will talk about first-passage percolation and last-passage percolation on the lattice, presenting results on the chaotic behavior of geodesics and the noise sensitivity of travel times. This extends previous work on the topic and illustrates that these phenomena can be expected more widely.
-
I will also talk about competing first-passage percolation on the configuration model, where two infection types compete to invade the vertices in the graph spreading via nearest neighbors. I will present results on coexistence of the two types and discuss different regimes of the configuration model when the degrees follow a power-law distribution.
