Michael Björklund: Counting and higher-order mixing

Abstract: During the talk, I will survey some not-so-recent, recent and on-going works with A. Gorodnik (Zurich) and R. Fregoli (Ann Arbor) on how higher-order mixing (and higher-order equidistribution) can be used to establish almost sure counting rates and CLTs for error terms in a wide array of problems stemming from Diophatine approximation.
