A very natural way to construct a graph on n vertices at random is to select each of the n(n-1)/2 edges of the complete graph with probability p. This is the Erdös-Renyi random graph model. In this talk, I will describe how, in a very elegant way, it gives rise to Wigner’s Semicircle Law, a law observed by Wigner in the context of understanding wave functions of quantum mechanical systems.
