Niko Naumann: The Balmer spectrum of a group

Time: Tue 2019-09-03 15.15 - 17.00

Location: Room 306, SU

Lecturer: Niko Naumann, Regensburg

We survey what is known about the Balmer spectrum of the category of genuine \(G\)-spectra for compact Lie groups \(G\). This object blends abstract tensor-triangular geometry with fairly concrete problems about the structure of fixed points of group actions.
In the first part of the talk, we plan to review the classical case \(G=1\), while the second part explains the main ingredients in the solution of the problem in the abelian case and some open problems.
