Abstract

I will present recent progress on the problem of establishing global estimates on self-gravitating matter under low decay or low regularity conditions.
(1) For Einstein's constraint equations, the existence of a broad class of asymptotically Euclidean solutions whose asymptotic behavior at infinity can be prescribed a priori. Collaboration with T. Nguyen.
(2) For the colliding gravitational wave problem, the existence of a large class of spacetimes containing singularity hypersurfaces and satisfying suitable junction conditions. Collaboration with B. Le Floch and G. Veneziano.
(3) For Einstein's evolution equations, the global stability of Minkowski spacetime in presence of a massive matter field. Collaboration with Y. Ma.
