Reading group Lecture 2: Reductive groups, their representations and Schubert varieties
Time: Thu 2023-03-23 15.30 - 17.00
Location Zoom - Please contact Wushi Goldring at firstname.lastname@example.org for the zoom link.
We are starting a new reading group on "Reductive groups, their representation and Schubert varieties". The group is aimed at advanced Master's students and can be seen as a continuation of the Master's course "Reductive algebraic groups" given last fall. Of course everyone is welcome, regardless of being a Master's student or not (in particular PhD students are very welcome).
We have decided to start by reading through the first chapter or two of Part II of Jantzen's "Representations of algebraic groups"; these give a summary about (split) reductive groups and their representations (in arbitrary characteristic). We may then try reading the last two chapters of the book which describe Schubert varieties.
Feel free to contact Wushi Goldring at email@example.com if you have any questions about the reading group.
Topic: 1.2-1.3 of Part II, Chapter 1 in Jantzen
