Tom Britton: The risk for a new COVID-19 wave - and how it depends on R_0, the current immunity level and current restrictions

Time: Wed 2020-11-11 15.15

Lecturer: Tom Britton, Stockholm University

Location: Zoom, email organisers

Abstract

We analyse a simple mathematical model for the spread of covid-19 which allows for heterogeneities with respect to age, social activity, susceptibility and infectivity. In the talk we investigate the minimal effect of preventive measures needed to avoid a new epidemic wave of Covid-19. In particular we investigate how it depends on the initial basic reproduction number \(R_0\) and the current immunity level \(\hat i\). Joint work with Frank Ball and Pieter Trapman.
