Abstract

In the context of Einstein's equations with positive cosmological constant, the Kerr de Sitter family of solutions are a model of a black hole in the expanding universe. In this talk, I will focus on a stability problem for the expanding region, which can be formulated as a characteristic initial value problem to the future of the cosmological horizons. I will briefly summarise my work on the decay of the conformal Weyl curvature in this setting, and present recent progress on the global construction of optical functions in de Sitter, and describe their relevance for my approach to this problem in double null gauge.
