Yulia Meshkova: On spectral theory approach to homogenization problems

The aim of the talk is to give a brief introduction to spectral theory approach to homogenization problems. This method was developed by M. Sh. Birman and T. A. Suslina. Main technical tools are the scaling transformation, the Floqiet-Bloch theory, and the analytic perturbation theory with respect to the quasi-momentum. The most attention will be devoted to the perturbation theory.
