Published Oct 09, 2014

On Friday 10 October a short seminar will be held in conjunction with the official signing of the co-operation between KTH and Scania. The new transport center will be named Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL).

The reason for the new research center, linked to the dept of Machine Design (MMK), is that the transport sector currently is undergoing revolutionary changes, due to tough challenges in society with growing cities and ambitious political goals.

Programme:

Leif Östling, chairman of Scania, Martin Lundstedt CEO Scania and Peter Gudmundsson, President of KTH signs the agreement which formally marks that the co-operation now starts.

Jan Wikander, Head of school (ITM, Industrial Engineering and Management) tells more about ITRL and how we move from words to action, the next step for the centre and new, potential partners.

Harald Ludanek, Executive Vice President of Research and Development, Scania, talks about why ITRL is important to Scania and his expectations for this venture.
