About the Division of Ergonomics

The Division of Ergonomics was established in 2008, and is a division within the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems at KTH, the School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health (CBH).

The activities of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health systems are based on the vision of the interface between technology and health/medicine as an expansive and innovative future area of ​​research and development which can contribute to solving major community needs, and where there are large educational needs. The Division of Ergonomics plays an important role in this work.

The strategically important areas of the unit's activities are the design of work, workplaces and products, based on knowledge of how people interact with technology, organization and environment. Within the unitthere is knowledge of physical ergonomics, applied ergonomics, work organization and change processes. The Division is located in Flemingsberg.

The research and development projects carried out at the Division of Ergonomics are often carried out in collaboration with industry or public sector, but there are also more experimental studies. Education becomes an increasingly important part of the department´s activities, and particularly the training of doctoral students, engineers at BSc and MSc level, and occupational health care staff.
