From November 2014 to June 2015, Ursula Hesie (who visited the Division a couple of years ago) and a few others organise a Sawyer Seminar on the Environmental Humanities at UCLA , with several familiar names from the Division, including and , current guest Thom van Dooren, and past guests Rob Nixon, Rosanne Kennedy, Dolly Jørgensen, Greg Garrard and Hannes Bergthaller.
