New Director of KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory

Dr Marco Armiero will serve as Director of KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory, starting this fall.

We are very pleased to announce that Dr Marco Armiero has agreed to serve as Director of the recently established . Dr Armiero, Senior Researcher, CNR, Italy and currently visiting scholar at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra Portugal, will join the Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment in the fall with the task of establishing and further fostering the environmental humanities as an intellectual endeavor and an active and creative field which can have a substantial impact on society at large.

Dr Armiero has a PhD in Economic History from the University of Bari (Italy). He made his post-doc at Yale University and has spent time as fellow or visiting professor at Berkeley and Stanford. He was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Autonomous University in Barcelona. Among his recent publication is the volume A Rugged Nation: Mountains and the making of Modern Italy (Cambridge, 2011).
