The fourth session of the Stories and Seeds film-forums will deal with the role of the media in framing Arctic climate change with the film “Expedition to the End of the World” (2013). The event will be chaired by Miyase Christensen, professor of Media and Communication Studies at KTH and Stockholm University and editor-in-chief of "Popular Communication: International Journal of Media and Culture". Miyase’s main research interests include environmental communication and climate change, globalization processes and social change, and politics of popular communication.

The real adventure film “Expedition to the End of the World” (2013) presents the grand journey of a group of artists and scientists who – on boar...d of a three-mast schooner – set off towards one of the last uncharted areas of the globe. Through this epic adventure around the rapidly melting massifs of North-East Greenland, director Daniel Dencik shows us how the sailors will not only encounter unknown parts of the world, but will also confront existential questions of life..

Admission is free, and a refreshment will be served to the attendees after the event.

The event is co-organized by the KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory and Arena Idé. Stories and Seeds is a project funded by the KTH Sustainability Office. Read more here!
