Till Grüne-Yanoff elected member of Leopoldina
Congratulations Till Grüne-Yanoff at the Division of philosophy, on being elected a member of Leopoldina, the oldest continuously existing scientific academy in the world.
Leopoldina is situated in Germany and has two major objectives: providing scientific advice to policy-makers and the public and representing the German scientific community on committees in which predominantly national academies are active.
”Leopoldina is a little bit similar to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Kungliga Vetenskapsakademin, KVA) in Sweden. Right now, I’m developing a new research project that focuses on scientific evidence in politics and policy. I ask why scientific evidence is not included, as one might expect, and what the reasons for this could be. Leopoldina is to a large degree engaged in advising policy, and I hope to contribute to different working groups, seminars, and publications, says Till Grüne-Yanoff.
