# Chemical Equilibrium Calculations software
============================================

## Install
----------

### EXE-setup

The best way to install the Windows-version of this
software is by downloading and running the setup
`exe`-installer, which will copy files and create
shortcuts. The setup program does not require
administrator rights, and it may be used for both
hard-disk and portable (USB) installations.

### ZIP-file

If for some reason you need to use the multi-platform
`zip`-file named `Eq-Diagr_Java.zip` on a Windows machine:
Copy the `zip`-file to a location of your choice,
such as your desktop or your home directory.

Open the file manager. Double-click on the `zip`-file
and copy the folder 'Eq-Diagr' to any location of your
choice. Open the 'Eq-Diagr' folder, and in the subfolder
'Windows-files' double click on the file
'_copy_java-launchers.cmd'. This will copy the
`exe`-files (java-launchers), icons, link(s) and
batch file(s) to the 'Eq-Diagr' folder.

'Spana.exe' and 'DataBase.exe' are the only files you will
normally need. As noted below in section "If the java
launchers do not work", you can also create shortcuts or
batch files to run the programs.

Finally, you may delete the `zip`-file. You may also delete the
sub-folders 'ubuntu-files' and 'MacOS-files'.

## Uninstall
------------

If you use the setup `exe`-installer, and chose
a hard disk install, there will be a file named
"uninstall.exe". For a portable installation,
just delete the folder.

If you used the `zip`-file, just delete the
'Eq-Diagr' folder.

## If the java launchers do not work
------------------------------------

If the exe-files (java-launchers) do not work, for example
'Spana.exe', you may run the software by creating either
shortcuts or command files. Two such files are found in
the subfolder 'Windows-files':

- 'Spana' is a windows shortcut. To use this shortcut,
right-click on it, choose "properties", and write
"javaw -jar Spana.jar" as the target. You can create
similar shortcuts to other programs by copy-paste,
changing the target jar-file, and changing the icon,
which you will find in subfolder `icons`.

- `Spana.cmd` is a command (batch) file which you can edit
with any text editor. You might need to replace `javaw`
for the full path of the `javaw.exe` file. You can
create similar batch files by copy-paste, changing the
  target `jar`-file of the copy.
