I am an interdisciplinary scholar focusing on understanding the historical and contemporary relation between technological promises and the ecological crisis. I employ a critical realist lens to understand how environmental degradation and social relations of power are perpetuated by the somtimes intended contrasts between symbol and reality. For my PhD studies in Human Ecology, I showed how the global environmental injustices of large-scale solar development contrasts to conventional narratives of a just and sustainable low-carbon transition through economic growth and decoupling.
I am currently employed as a researcher on the HARNESS project with the goal to understand the promises and pitfalls and diverse spatializations of geothermal energy. I also work as an adjunct lecturer at Lund university.
