Enhanced Catalytic Pyrolysis of Biomass

Currently, Devy is investigating the catalytic pyrolysis of biomass to generate a high quality bio-oil. A novel concept considering the process development and catalyst development is taken to approach this. She is working with partners from ERA-NET Bioenergy countries to cover the whole process chain (biomass supplier, R&D of pyrolysis process, bio-oil upgrading, bio-oil application and sustainability). The expected outputs are a full-scale design of the new concept verified by appropriate lab- and pilot-plant test runs as well as a road map for the technology development.
