Hossein Hooshyar was a researcher in the Electric Power and Energy Systems department of KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2017. He was a postdoctoral associate in the same department from 2013 to 2015. Prior to joining KTH, he was with the Electric Power Engineering group of Luleå University of Technology as a postdoctoral associate. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the North Carolina State University, US, in 2012. His research interest includes digital simulation of power systems, integration of renewable energy resources, and applications of PMU data for smart grids.
His research focus at KTH has been on PMU-based applications for tighter interaction of TSOs and DSOs through exchange of key dynamic information. The work was supported by IDE4L (Ideal Grid for All) project, funded by the European Commission, FP7-Energy-2013-7-1 Call.
